It’s been an eventful six months at YES Energy Solutions.

Penguin Waving SlantedHaving won ECO funding in April to help vulnerable residents improve their heating facilities, we are now supporting a series of SME installers to expand their operations and target fuel poor communities.

We’ve teamed up Northern Gas Networks and soon will be implementing a project to help connect residents across Yorkshire to the mains gas grid.

Our external wall insulation project in Stamford is running at full pelt thanks to a proactive partnership with South Kesteven District Council.

And as the year draws to a close we have redefined our social values to ensure that all of our work focusses on reducing CO2 and alleviating fuel poverty.

‘Since the wall were done our house feels so much warmer. Our heating’s not on as long and the rooms just feels cosier. We could tell the difference as soon as they put the board on, even before they applied the top coat. It just keeps the heat inside the house.’

New Cashback Scheme for Energy Efficiency

Monday, June 9th, 2014

The Government has launched the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF) – a new scheme which offers homeowners cashback when they invest in major energy saving services.

If you choose to improve your home’s energy efficiency, for a limited period you could claim money back for the installations carried out. (Subject to survey)

External solid wall insulationWhat’s on offer:

  • Homeowners that invest in external solid wall insulation can now claim up to £6,000 from the Government.
  • Residents that get two specific energy saving measures installed (e.g. a new boiler and double glazed windows) can claim £1,000 cashback.
  • If you have recently moved house in the last 12 months, you could get an additional £500 if you choose to invest in home efficiency improvements.

All measures must be installed by a Green Deal Approved installer.

See a full list of all the eligible energy saving measures for the GDHIF.

The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund replaces the Government’s old Cashback scheme which was launched last year. The new fund offers private residents a larger incentive for investing in high ticket home improvements.

External solid wall insulation is the primary focus of the initiative, as residents can now claim up to two thirds of the cost when having the work carried out.

Yorkshire Energy Services’ installations subsidiary – YES Energy Solutions are currently helping residents in Kirklees access the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund. The company has been working in the Almondbury and Cleckheaton areas to help local residents claim money back for external solid wall insulation.

Beverley Thorp, Business Development Manager at YES Energy Solutions explained:

‘We are delighted that the Government has now launched the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund. This will certainly help residents cover the majority of the installation costs. Many of them will be able to claim up to £6,000 Cackback towards the work.’

‘External solid wall insulation not only helps people save energy but it can also dramatically improve the visual appearance of a property. Thanks to the new scheme, people can improve the look and feel of their homes without breaking the bank!’

Yorkshire Energy Services is currently working with Kirklees Council to offer interest free loans* for energy saving home improvements. Residents in Almondbury or Cleckheaton that choose YES Energy Solutions as their external solid wall insulation installer will not only be able to claim money back through the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund, but could also take out a Kirklees Energy Help Loan to split the remaining cost into interest free monthly instalments.

*Subject to credit check. 8% Administration charge applies when taking out the loan.
