Staff from Yorkshire Energy Services took part in Age UK’s 10K run last Sunday in Harewood to raise money for charity and promote Wrap Up Leeds, a new council backed insulation scheme operating throughout the authority.
Emma Kovaleski, Liz Henry and Susannah Williams joined 1,200 runners from across the West Yorkshire district. Star runner Emma finished 43rd out of the 562 female competitors. Delighted with her time she felt the day was a great success. “It was a brilliant day; it was muddy and slippery but a lot of fun for a great cause.”
Emma, Liz and Susannah were easily spotted on the day, running in their burgundy Wrap Up Leeds shirts to help raise awareness of the free insulation scheme. Yorkshire Energy Services are managing Wrap Up Leeds on behalf of Leeds City Council. The scheme offers all homeowners and private renting tenants in the area free cavity wall insulation and free loft insulation where technically suitable. The offer works on a first come first served basis until 15,000 Leeds homes have been wrapped up.
