Microgeneration Conference Success

The Yorkshire and Humber Microgeneration Conference and Awards Dinner 2011 was held at the prestigious Majestic Hotel, Harrogate 31st March 2011.

The event was the fourth of its kind since Local Government Yorkshire and Humber organised the first back in 2007. This year was the second organised by the Yorkshire and Humber Microgeneration Partnership.

The Conference, sponsored by A Shade Greener and sister companies Nationwide Solar and A Shade Warmer saw over 150 delegates attend for 15 speaker presentations which included Leonie Greene from the Renewable Energy Association reviewing the Feed in Tariff’s of the eve of its first anniversary; Councillor Mehboob Khan, leader of Kirklees Council spoke about the Council’s success to date and the future for renewables. Gideon Richards, Chair of the MCS Steering group allowed for a heated debate around issues installers face in gaining the accreditation; and a ‘meet the customer’ session, which included Craig Jackson from South Yorkshire Housing Association and Dawn Horton, Head teacher of Hillside Primary School, Huddersfield returning to enlighten the audience on their 2010 award winning projects.
